AVHS Installs Handrails at MRHC Entrance with Support from the WKCF Grant

Meade, Kansas – July 17,  2025 –  Artesian Valley Health System (AVHS) in Meade, Kansas, is pleased to announce the installation of handrails at the main entrance of the Meade Rural Health Clinic. This addition improves safety and accessibility for patients, visitors, and staff, and was supported in part by a $2,500.00 grant from the Western Kansas Community Foundation.

The custom handrails were made and installed by a partnership of Isaac Construction and Plumbing and J2 Welding, Jimmy Johannsen. These handrails are designed to provide vital support for individuals with mobility challenges, particularly at the outdoor entrance, where stability and safety are crucial.

The Western Kansas Community Foundation (WKCF), based in Garden City, Kansas, was established in 1996 and has since been dedicated to connecting donors with meaningful programs and charities that make a positive impact. Their focus is on enriching life in Western Kansas through philanthropy, collaboration, and leadership.

The installation of these handrails reflects Artesian Valley Health System's ongoing commitment to creating a safer, more accessible, and welcoming environment for everyone. To learn more about our services and facilities, call (620) 873-2141 or visit www.avhealthsystem.com.
